CONTEXT & OBJECTIVE

Approximately 11 million children die each year in developing countries before they reach the age of 5. In 2013, 162 million children under 5 years of age were estimated to be stunted (WHO Report). WHO claims that most of these cases were the result of poor feeding habits and recurring infections due to a lack of immunizations and poor growth monitoring. When visiting health centers for post natal checkups, approximately 100 million children were recorded as having low weight/ height for age figures.

DESIGN OUTCOME

The child health record addresses the health status of the mother and baby. Each element is composed of a modular system that has capability to operate independently as well as function as a whole. The system includes: immunization card, birth details, and a child monitoring chart.
